A Short Story About Damon Woodhouse
Damon Woodhouse, owner of The Life Factory on the Central Coast, had a dream of achieving financial independence at a reasonably early age. Then a chance meeting with a life coach changed his perception of what he needed to do to realise this dream. The short story is that Damon hired this life coach and at 37, Damon ‘retired’ in the sense that he no longer needed to work to support his family and his lifestyle.

Almost a decade later, he devotes part of his time to being a life coach to others at his Central Coast Life Factory. Damon’s philosophy is that through sharing his knowledge and creating abundance for others, his own life is more rewarding.

The Slightly Longer Story
Life coaching had a massive impact on Damon’s life and he now realises that there is more to self-fulfilment than financial success. Having a goal of financial independence when life is unsettled at a deeper level rarely brings results: stress, health problems and relationship issues are the telling signs. Damon learned that by starting with the ‘basics’ and aiming for greater peace of mind, other areas of life became easier to deal with.

Before Damon hired a life coach, the small business he was running faced regulatory challenges and pressure by local Council to shut down. Life coaching focused his mind and his goals: Damon subsequently relocated the business and transformed it into a multi-million dollar company.

Through coaching, Damon also found a renewed energy for life and a greater understanding about what was important to him. A health setback was overcome and his relationships improved. Even though he has reached many of his original goals, Damon continues to work with a life coach, believing that life is a journey, not just a destination.

TRANSFORM MY LIFE
Im lacking the skill to be where I want to be (that was my opening email to Damon). That was me at 46 and just bumping through life without purpose or the mind set to know how to change. I knew I could be better just didn’t know how,
